Internship opportunity within the Financial Investigation Team focusing on financial dimensions of serious international crimes in Myanmar.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct open and closed source research on factual situations
• Prepare analyses on international and national criminal law, international human rights law, and public international law
• Conduct research on factual and policy issues
• Contribute to analytical products, briefing papers, reports, and public information materials
• Assist in compiling and reviewing information, documentation, and evidence
• Proof-read and edit documents
• Draft meeting records

Experience Requirements

• Applicants are not required to have professional work experience
• Undertaken studies in law, international relations, political science or related areas
• Academic or prior experience in financial, sanctions, legal research or analysis in the field of international crimes or serious human rights violations or related areas is desirable

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme maximum one year before the date of their application

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
