Overview

Support the Director and Branches of the Financing for Sustainable Development Office in all aspects of its work, ensuring workflows are executed in a timely and efficient manner.


Tasks Summary
  • Support the Director with daily background material for events and meetings
  • Assist with preparation and submission of speeches, talking points, and background notes
  • Support the organization of FFD related meetings, events, and conferences
  • Support the scheduling of the Director’s meetings and official missions
  • Attend meetings, prepare draft follow-up emails and meeting summaries
  • Monitor follow-up activities
  • Update the FSDO Website with branches and IT focal point
  • Perform ad hoc requests

Experience Requirements

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.


Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
  • Field of study closely related to the internship
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, including clear and effective speaking and writing styles
  • Collaborative team-oriented approach
  • Outward-looking, client-driven approach
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to its Charter
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish)

Contract Duration: Up to six months

Work Modality: New York

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
