arco - Erlebnispädagogik e.V. Wiesbaden, Germany Volunteer opportunity: Act, Create, Connect – Volunteering with arco e.V.
arco e.V. is a non-profit organization in Wiesbaden dedicated to intercultural exchange, creative education, and international youth work. The organization focuses on non-formal learning, fostering cultural diversity, and promoting active participation. Volunteers will engage in three main areas: supporting cultural projects for children (5-12 years, theater & circus pedagogy), assisting in international youth exchanges, and contributing to administration & event organization. A key aspect is learning by doing, supported by an internal training program on non-formal education, group facilitation, and intercultural communication. The project offers volunteers the chance to develop new skills, gain international experience, and contribute to meaningful projects in an inspiring and diverse environment. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will stay in a fully equipped facility in Wiesbaden, having their own room in a shared flat. They will receive 7 EUR/day pocket money and 345 EUR/month for meals. Travel costs are reimbursed per ESC guidelines. Volunteers also receive a Deutschlandticket, allowing unlimited public transportation within Germany. Insurance is provided through the ESC program. Training during the activity Volunteers will take part in internal training on non-formal education, intercultural communication, and group facilitation to prepare them for working with young people. They will have access to an online language course and can attend on-site German classes. Regular mentoring and reflection sessions are offered to support personal and professional growth. Participant profile Applicants must be 18-30 years old and residents of an ESC programme country. They should be interested in intercultural work, creative education, and social engagement. A willingness to work with children and youth, initiative, creativity, and teamwork skills are essential. Basic English is required, while German skills are helpful but not mandatory—a willingness to learn is sufficient but we expect a certain curiosity about learning German.
