Overview

The Partnership and Communication Associate will lead the development and implementation of UNDP's communications strategy in Qatar, coordinate partnership success stories, and support high-level visits.

Tasks Summary

• Lead on the development and implementation of communications strategy of UNDP in Qatar including management of relevant social media handles jointly with key partners in Qatar.
• Coordinate and share relevant partnership success stories and partnership visibility and positioning efforts including during the annual strategic dialogues, key meetings within Doha et al
• Coordinate partnership advocacy events, UN recognized international and national celebrations including annual UN Day to collect communication materials including multi-media content and dissemination of the same across all relevant media platforms in coordination with UN agencies based in Qatar
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping of partnership engagements, portfolio tracking using the established database and Quantum, including monitoring key portfolio milestones and performance indicators.
• Support high level visits of Executive office/Regional Bureau and UNDP delegations to Qatar including ensuring relevant media coverage and reporting.
• Proactively support the negotiation of proposals and templates of funding agreements in accordance with UNDP’s policies, rules and regulations, in close collaboration with Country offices and other relevant units/Bureaux.
• Lead on production of partnership documentation including INGOs, foundations and charitable institutions, private sector and maintain effective outreach and relationship with local stakeholders in Qatar.
• Support production of articles and write ups including relevant partnership reporting documents, lessons learnt and annual planning and monitoring documents.
• Assist with the conducted of regular office activity and progress reports, minutes taking
• Promote the visibility of the unit activities through social media, articles, project stories and good practices

Experience Requirements

• 3 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public information, or media relations, including hands-on experience producing social media content and short video features including translation of content where needed. Prior experience supporting high-level events and working with UN agencies, government partners, or development organizations is highly desirable.
• Experience in designing and implementing communications strategies, managing social media platforms, and producing digital content including short videos and multimedia materials.
• Proven experience in organizing and promoting high-level advocacy events, public campaigns, and visibility initiatives.
• Prior work with UN agencies, government institutions, or civil society organizations on communications, public information, or partnership engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government counterparts, media partners, and a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Experience working in Qatar or the Gulf region is an asset.
• Familiarity with the communications protocols of international organizations; knowledge of UNDP’s communications policies and procedures is an advantage.
