Overview
This online volunteering assignment supports UNDP Kenya in enhancing data analysis capabilities to improve efficiency, transparency, and strategic decision-making through data-driven operations.
Tasks Summary
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports.
- Assist in cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data to generate actionable insights.
- Contributes to the automation and optimization of reporting processes.
- Connect to multiple data sources (Excel, SQL databases, APIs, cloud services, etc.).
- Build interactive dashboards and reports using: Charts (bar, line, pie, Tables and matrices, Slicers and filters, Maps and KPIs)
- Design for user experience: consistent layout, intuitive navigation, color themes.
- Schedule data refreshes via Power BI Service.
- Provide general administrative and ICT support to the ICT unit as required.
Expected Outputs:
- Functional and user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Cleaned and well-documented datasets.
- Documentation of data sources, transformations, and business logic.
- Weekly status updates and a final presentation/report summarizing work completed.
- Share dashboards with stakeholders and manage access via workspaces and row-level security (RLS).
Experience Requirements
- Familiarity with Power BI and basic understanding of DAX and Power Query (M language).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic SQL.
- UN (United Nations) Experience
Qualification Requirements
• A degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering Data Science or a related field. (such as a master’s programme, or higher)
