The Legal Officer will provide substantive, technical, and administrative support for the adjudication of cases to the UNDT judges in Geneva. The role involves reviewing submissions, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and advising on legal and administrative matters.
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in law, including legal analysis, research and writing is required. At least two years of experience in administrative or employment/labor law preferably in an international organization or tribunal is required. Experience providing support to a judge/judges as a judicial or legal clerk or legal officer is desirable. Experience in litigation in an international or domestic judicial system is desirable.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in law. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Languages Required: English is required.
Languages Preferred: Either French or Spanish or Arabic or Chinese (Mandarin) or Russian is desirable.
