Legal Officer responsible for handling a range of legal issues related to the investment activities of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) Office of Investment Management (OIM).

Tasks Summary

• Handles legal issues related to OIM's investment activities, including interpretation of instruments
• Conducts legal research and prepares studies, briefs, and reports
• Reviews legal documents, contracts, and supporting materials
• Prepares drafts of background papers and reports on banking and investment law
• Provides legal opinions on public or private law issues
• Assists in preparing agreements and negotiating claims and disputes
• Assists committees and other bodies
• Represents the Organization before arbitral tribunals
• Provides legal advice on human resources and administrative matters
• Collects and analyzes data for insights and reporting
• Provides guidance to junior staff

Experience Requirements

Experience in handling a range of legal issues related to investment activities. Experience in legal research and analysis. Experience in reviewing legal documents and contracts. Experience in preparing legal opinions and advice. Experience in assisting with agreements and dispute resolution. Experience in representing organizations before arbitral tribunals. Experience in providing legal advice on human resources and administrative matters. Experience in data collection and analysis for reporting.

Qualification Requirements

Professional and Higher Categories, P-3 level.
