Overview

Provide support in the implementation of activities related to women and trade in The Gambia and coordinate capacity building and market access activities for SheTrades Hubs in Nigeria, Ghana, and The Gambia.

Tasks Summary
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to women and trade.
  • Monitor and analyze gender-specific assignments of project development and implementation.
  • Conduct basic research on inclusive trade of projects, operations, and other activities.
  • Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
  • Assist in performing consulting assignments, including planning and facilitating workshops.
  • Participate in survey initiatives, assist with data collection tool design, and analyze responses.
  • Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, such as draft background papers and reports.
  • Provide administrative and substantive support to meetings and conferences.
  • Contribute to outreach activities and participate in the development of training workshops.
  • Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support and data collection.
  • Coordinate activities related to budget funding and prepare related documents/reports.
  • Ensure necessary permissions for intellectual property rights are obtained.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project management, administration, or a related area.
  • Experience working on women and trade issues in The Gambia and West Africa is desirable.
  • Experience on SMEs-level export readiness capacity building, market linkages development, and institutional capacity building is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • A first-level university degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, or a related field may be accepted in lieu of relevant professional work experience.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: nine (9) months, with possible extension
