Overview

The Procurement Assistant will analyze and process procurement requests for goods and services, ensuring adherence to WHO guidelines and accurate documentation. The role involves initiating local purchase requests, monitoring their status, and preparing related correspondence and reports.

Tasks Summary
  • Analyze and process requests for procurement of goods and services.
  • Ensure adherence to standard WHO guidelines on procurement.
  • Initiate local purchase requests for catalogue and non-catalogue items.
  • Monitor status and ensure timely process of requests and delivery of goods and services.
  • Draft purchase order amendments.
  • Prepare requests for price estimates.
  • Draft bid invitations and related correspondence.
  • Compile offers and prepare summary of bids.
  • Draft adjudication reports with recommendations.
  • Arrange for Country Procurement Committee meetings.
  • Maintain and update the suppliers' database.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports and briefings.
  • Initiate correspondence to verify data and answer queries.
  • Perform other duties related to area of work and replace colleagues as required.
Experience Requirements

At least five years' progressive experience in procurement in the UN System.

Qualification Requirements
  • Essential: Completion of secondary education, supplemented by training in a field related to the work performed.
  • Desirable: University degree in business administration, social sciences or a related field is an asset.
Other Details

Languages Required: Good knowledge of English Language

Languages Preferred: Good knowledge of Arabic Language

Contract Duration: 1 year

Work Modality:

Remuneration: annual net base salary starting at USD 14,831 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
