Overview

The intern will assist in promoting the Cali Fund to various stakeholders through social media and website maintenance. The role involves creating and updating communication materials.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist with the maintenance of social media accounts for the Cali Fund such as LinkedIn, X, and Instagram;
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Cali Fund website;
  • Use Canva to develop, maintain and update Cali Fund guides, as needed;
  • Create additional communication products relating to the multilateral mechanism on digital sequence information on genetic resources and the Cali Fund through research, and drafting of language;
  • Support the implementation of the strategy for work related to DSI and the Cali Fund, under the guidance of the Programme Management Officer and UN collaborators:
  • Work with the communications unit to promote existing communications materials (videos, infographics etc.) on DSI, and the creation of new communications collaterals such as videos for storytelling;
  • Work on translations with the assistance of staff and translation tools;
  • Monitor the success of social media posts based on analytics, and keep up to date on new social media tools and best practices;
  • Participate in meetings both internally and with other UN entities on the communication strategy, guidance and review for the Cali Fund;
  • Support the organization and preparation of meetings, virtual or other, organized by the ABS Unit for work related to DSI, MLM and the Cali Fund, including logistical support and notetaking;
  • Assist in other duties as may be requested, including by the Executive Secretary.
Experience Requirements
Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor 's level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications.
  • Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Arabic, French, Mandarin, and Spanish is desirable.

Contract Duration: six (6) months

Work Modality: Montreal or remotely

Remuneration: UNPAID
