Overview

Support the development and implementation of communications and advocacy strategies, and develop communications and advocacy content and assets for UN Women in Afghanistan.

Tasks Summary

• Support the development and implementation of communications and advocacy strategies.
• Develop communications and advocacy content and assets.
• Support media relations for the Country Office.
• Support reporting, knowledge management, learning and risk awareness.
• Support donor visibility and partner engagement.
• Perform other duties as required for communications and advocacy outputs of the Office and the Organisation.

Experience Requirements

• at least 3 years of work experience at international level in public relations, communications or advocacy is required.
• Experience in the use of social media is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity and ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners at different levels is required;
• Ability to work and adapt effectively in a challenging environment and work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel is required;
• Ability to work with tight deadlines is essential;
• Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel etc.) spreadsheet and database packages, and web-based management systems are required
• Experience in media relations is desirable.
• Knowledge of gender and human rights issues is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related area.
