Overview

This internship focuses on online course moderation, assisting in monitoring participant queries, flagging technical and substantive issues, and providing administrative support for responses. The role also involves reviewing participant submissions and supporting documentation and reporting.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in monitoring course participant queries and discussion forums.
  • Support the identification and flagging of technical issues.
  • Assist in flagging substantive policy or content questions requiring OSAA input.
  • Provide administrative support in coordinating responses to participant inquiries.
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing participant submissions against established analytical frameworks and course criteria.
  • Support the evaluation of activity responses for quality and alignment with course objectives.
  • Assist in organizing and categorizing participant contributions for review.
  • Assist in preparing summaries of participant engagement patterns and common themes.
  • Support the documentation of moderation activities and identified issues.
  • Provide technical input for improving moderation processes and participant guidance materials.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Familiarity with online course moderation platforms, experience applying analytical frameworks to policy design and familiarity with the African development context.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Remote or in person

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
