Overview

This internship supports the implementation of the overall HR communications strategy within the Office of Human Resources. The intern will liaise with various offices on communications requests and assist with the review and publication of communication materials.

Tasks Summary
  • Liaising with various offices on communications requests and providing assistance with the review and publication of OHR communication materials, including articles and broadcasts
  • Assisting with proofreading and editing of content for print, web, multimedia, events, and publications
  • Supporting the web content updates
  • Making proposals and suggestions to improve on web graphics and design, including the creation of graphics, logos, and other digital materials as needed
  • Assessing the adequacy of existing records-management and reference tools, contributing to record-keeping improvement initiatives, and providing recommendations
  • Contributing to enhancements of Information Systems
  • Assisting in drafting notes, speeches, messages, reports, and background documents
  • Compiling statistics and generating reports related to the office's work, as requested
  • Assisting in preparing presentation materials such as graphs, charts, Excel tables, and PowerPoint slides
  • Supporting the implementation of other HR strategies.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in French, Arabic, or Spanish is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months (flexible)

Work Modality: full-time and in person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
