Overview
The UNV Especialista Obra Civiles & Adquisiciones will provide technical and administrative support for the acquisition of goods, services, and minor works related to infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies and procedures.
Tasks Summary
- Elaborate the annual work plan for construction activities and monitor project progress.
- Support the preparation of tender documents for construction services and works.
- Collaborate in the review of technical specifications, budgets, plans, and terms of reference.
- Conduct market identification and analysis for qualified suppliers and contractors.
- Provide support in technical and financial evaluation processes.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Support the planning and organization of field visits with suppliers/contractors.
- Provide operational support for other acquisition processes of goods and services.
- Maintain updated information in corporate systems.
- Contribute to the preparation of acquisition reports.
- Ensure all acquisition activities comply with UNICEF Financial Regulations and Supply Manual.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with program sections, suppliers, and counterparts.
- Support capacity-building actions for program and operations colleagues.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, works supervision, project monitoring, or related activities.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement of construction services, materials, and supplies.
- Experience working on public and/or private infrastructure projects.
- Desirable: Experience in contract management and budget control.
- Desirable: Experience or familiarity with public procurement and its applicable regulations.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related fields.
