Overview

The Programme Analyst supports the implementation of UNFPA PSRO Programme in the country at national and sub-national levels, ensuring strategic interventions align with global and national development agendas. The role contributes to programme formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, providing integrated programme, technical, and operational support.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programme delivery and provide in-country support for operational activities.
  • Contribute to continuous monitoring and follow-up of activities, finalizing queries, questionnaires, and summarizing reports.
  • Support monitoring of tasks assigned to the country office and contribute to periodic and annual reports.
  • Provide quality inputs to quarterly and annual reporting and support implementing partners in developing work plan progress reports.
  • Support the monitoring of project expenditures and disbursements, identifying operational and financial problems and developing solutions.
  • Assist with coordination of quarterly meetings with implementing partners and carry out monitoring missions.
  • Support training needs of counterparts by establishing collaborative relationships to improve their capacity.
  • Contribute to monitoring and reporting on different initiatives in the country of assignment.
  • Assist in the preparation of national and regional events.
  • Provide clarifications to implementing partners and UNFPA programme finance staff on operational guidelines.
  • Support drafting background project papers, briefing documents, proposals, statements, talking points, and reports.
  • Analyze, appraise, and review incoming documents and correspondence.
  • Liaise between the country’s presence office and other UNFPA and UN sister agencies.
  • Support the development of partnerships with UN Agencies, government institutions, donors, private sector, and civil society.
  • Contribute to the identification, distillation, and documentation of knowledge about population and development trends, reproductive health, and gender issues.
  • Contribute to analysis and research on donors and identify opportunities for new projects.
  • Support and work effectively in coalitions and networks.
  • Provide day-to-day support to country offices and sub-regional office management needs.
  • Perform other duties assigned related to programme support, knowledge exchange, and strengthening relations.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ professional experience in programme or project support, capacity development, and/or international development-related work is required.
  • Experience in contributing to advocacy and knowledge management in the duty station and in international cooperation.
  • Experience in liaising with government authorities and other national/international organizations.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with field experience are an asset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Previous experience with UN is an asset.
Qualification Requirements

• An Undergraduate University Degree (Bachelors) in Management, International Development, Sociology, Economics, Demography, International Relations, Public Administration, Public Health, Medicine or related field is required.

Remuneration: competitive net salary (starting from $USD 34,883 annually) plus health insurance, pension, dependency allowances, annual/sick leave and other benefits as applicable.
