Overview
The Education Officer provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance for education programming, including emergency projects, from development planning to results delivery. The role supports programme development, management, monitoring, and innovation.
Tasks Summary
- Support programme development and planning in development, nexus, and emergency contexts.
- Conduct situation analysis and research on development trends.
- Contribute to setting sectoral programme goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Provide technical and administrative support throughout programming processes.
- Ensure timely delivery of education assistance and supplies.
- Monitor and report on programme resource utilization.
- Prepare draft inputs for programme/donor reporting and resource mobilization.
- Undertake field visits to assess conditions and monitor project progress.
- Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts and partners.
- Maintain coordination and communication with stakeholders.
- Build and sustain partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
- Draft communication materials for programme advocacy.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings and events.
- Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
- Contribute to identifying, capturing, and sharing lessons learned.
- Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
- Research and report on best practices for knowledge products.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
Qualification Requirements
A university degree (Bachelor) in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
