Midterm Review Consultant - GEF GOLD+: Global Coordination, knowledge management and outreach (GEF ID 10606) project

Overview

Conduct a Mid-term Review for the GEF GOLD+: Global Coordination, knowledge management and outreach project to assess progress, challenges, and provide recommendations.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct a desk review of project documentation.
• Conduct online or in-person interviews with stakeholders.
• Draft the MTR report as per UNEP evaluation office requirements.
• Revise the draft MTR report based on comments.
• Submit the final MTR report.
• Liaise with the UNEP GEF C&GCU Unit team to provide regular updates.
• Arrange interpretation/translation services as needed.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of technical/evaluation experience in projects and programmatic approaches is required.
• Experience evaluating UNEP and/or GEF projects is desirable.
• Experience evaluating ASGM and mercury projects is desirable.
• Good/broad understanding of mercury, pollutants management is desirable.
• Working knowledge of the UN system and specifically the work of UNEP is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in environmental sciences, international development, chemical and waste, or other relevant political or social science areas is required.
• A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
