Overview

National Consultant for the Management of Unwanted Controlled Substances to support Member States in the collection, transport, and environmentally sound disposal of such substances.

Tasks Summary
  • Collect data from key sectors for the years 2023 and 2024, focusing on identifying banks of unwanted controlled substances.
  • Participate in stakeholder consultations and support national workshops.
  • Assist in the development of a National Action Plan for collection, transport, and disposal.
  • Prepare a study on the existing system for management of unwanted refrigerants.
  • Propose a scheme for coordinated action among waste management companies and RAC servicing enterprises.
  • Support the organization and delivery of a joint training workshop.
  • Prepare and submit a final technical report summarizing activities, findings, challenges, and recommendations.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 years experience in implementation of the legislation and projects related to environmental areas of interest is required.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree or equivalent in technical or natural sciences or a Bachelor’s degree in combination with an additional five years of relevant working experience is required.

Other Details

Languages Required: Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Bangla is required

Languages Preferred: cyber/internet-literacy is desirable

Contract Duration: 100 workdays
