Overview

The Protection Cluster & Sector Co-Coordinator will co-lead the National Protection Cluster and Protection Sector within the dual humanitarian coordination architecture in Colombia. The role promotes interventions that prevent, address, and restore human rights violations.

Tasks Summary
  • Promote relevant and robust coordination mechanisms.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Protection Cluster & Sector strategies and work-plans.
  • Ensure the adequate and effective functioning of joint Protection Cluster & Sector coordination mechanisms.
  • Liaise with AoRs and Subsectors coordination teams, sub-national Protection Working Groups, Protection Cluster & Sector members, HCT and GIFMM National Coordination, and other Clusters/Sectors.
  • Identify protection needs and support resource mobilization.
  • Identify gaps in the response and ensure no duplication of actions.
  • Conduct advocacy with local and national government and the humanitarian sector.
  • Provide training and capacity-building in protection related matters.
  • Represent and advocate for international and national protection NGOs.
  • Represent the Protection Cluster & Sector within inter-cluster & sector coordination mechanisms.
  • Promote an age, gender, and diversity (AGD) approach in protection analysis, planning and response.
  • Work closely with information management colleagues to develop protection information management tools and products.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in humanitarian protection in conflict and/or emergency settings.
  • At least 2 years of experience in protection coordination in the humanitarian sector.
  • Experience in protection information management.
  • Experience and knowledge of mixed-migration and international protection.
  • Knowledge about the Colombian internal armed conflict and the Venezuelan migration crisis.
Qualification Requirements

• Master's degree in Human Rights, Political Science, Sociology, Forced Migration, Refugee Law, or any other relevant field

Languages Required: • Fluent Spanish and advanced English skills are required. • Fluency in written and spoken English • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish

Work Modality: The position will be based in Bogota with regular travels within Colombia.

Remuneration: Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Colombian Laws.
