Overview

Perform highly skilled ICT activities, providing substantive technical assistance to senior ICT staff and resolving escalated problems. The role impacts the design and functionality of ICT systems and the operational effectiveness of staff.

Tasks Summary
  • Support in monitoring and supervising ICT activities in camps, including reporting and ensuring project execution within budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for ICT-communications projects.
  • Maintain mission-critical assets related to connectivity, firewall, software, and hardware updates.
  • Coordinate engagement with telecom operators and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide operational ICT support to the Jordan office and assist with Technology for Development (T4D) initiatives.
  • Engage with telecommunications companies, regulatory authorities, and other vendors for ICT-communications projects.
  • Assist in managing vendors involved in specific projects.
  • Support training efforts and enhance self-service capabilities.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and capacity building for program staff and implementing partners.
  • Support ICT IBVs across multiple camps.
  • Draft technical documentation and manuals.
  • Assess training needs and develop/present training to users.
  • Contribute to budget development and identify funding gaps.
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity principles and data protection best practices.
  • Participate in reviews of digital access permissions.
  • Support the Jordan Country Office in promoting digital technologies.
  • Support the adoption of digital tools.
  • Provide support and technical assistance for technology interventions.
  • Provide support for offline/online data collection tools.
  • Engage in specialized field-related training.
  • Provide proactive support and technical assistance for ad-hoc requests.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field to the role may replace two years of related work experience.
Qualification Requirements
  • Completion of Secondary education is required.
  • Professional and/or university courses related to the field of work are highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of professional growth, evidenced by advanced certifications and specialized training within the field.

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: until 31 December 2026

Work Modality: This role involves regular field visits to refugee camps (around 60% of the time) and coordination work at the main office (around 40%).
