Overview

Support UNICEF Ukraine to increase demand and readiness to use MICS data and to produce additional analyses beyond standard MICS products. Support broader child-related data work including administrative/secondary data, data management and documentation.

Tasks Summary
  • Build and update a practical MICS analysis plan.
  • Support UNICEF engagement with high-level counterparts.
  • Conduct hands-on analysis and produce materials.
  • Support MICS data-use readiness and demand.
  • Support data compilation and documentation.
  • Ensure technical quality and reporting.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in quantitative research and/or data analysis, including substantial experience working with household survey microdata (e.g., MICS, DHS, EU-SILC, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and communicate analytical findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with key survey concepts.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and knowledge management tools.
  • Strong facilitation/communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders.
  • Strong computer literacy, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel; proven ability to work with survey microdata using SPSS.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively in multi-stakeholder environments.
Qualification Requirements

Master's degree in statistics, economics, demography, public health, social sciences, data science, or a related field (PhD is an asset).

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): USD 2246 (equivalent in UAH) is provided monthly. USD 400 entry lump sum, one-time payment. Medical and life insurance. Annual leave: 2.5 days per completed month. Learning leave: up to ten working days per consecutive 12 months. Certified Sick Leave: up to 30 days based on a 12-month cycle. Uncertified Sick Leave: seven days in a calendar year.
