Overview

The intern will support the Project Management Office (PMO) team in monitoring project management compliance and providing support to the project management tool replacement project.

Tasks Summary
  • Attend Project Management (PM) compliance review meetings and project status meetings.
  • Follow-up with Project Managers (PMs) on outstanding compliance items, documentation gaps, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in tracking compliance against PMO methodology, standards, and governance.
  • Support the maintenance of compliance tracking sheets.
  • Assist with drafting meeting minutes and action items for compliance related meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Online replacement project.
  • Assist in maintaining project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Assist with testing, documentation, and user-support materials.
  • Support ad-hoc Project Management Office (PMO) activities, analysis, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining PMO SharePoint site reference material, templates, and records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to PMO processes, tools, and reporting.
Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, be enrolled in, or have completed, the FINAL academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Strong visual communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic project management concepts and project lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality: The internship can be in-person or fully remote depending on applicant's location

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
