National Horticulturist cum GAP Specialist

Overview

The National Horticulturist cum GAP Specialist will support the design and implementation of horticulture-related project activities, promote the adoption of sustainable practices, and provide technical guidance and capacity-building support.

Tasks Summary

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on horticultural crops.
• Support the development and implementation of horticulture-focused projects.
• Conduct assessments, surveys, and field visits.
• Provide training, capacity building, and advisory support.
• Prepare technical reports, manuals, and training materials.
• Support monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
• Advise on regulatory matters related to horticultural production.

Experience Requirements

At least 9 years of progressively research experience and good understanding of horticulture cropping systems with skills in field experimentation, experimental design and statistics.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Working knowledge of English (level C)

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Horticultural commodity value chains with focus on production aspects would be an added advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension)
