Overview
The Inter Agency Coordination Officer position supports the transition of the inter-agency system in South Sudan, ensuring UNHCR maintains a central role in coordination and leads inter-agency coordination in refugee and displacement contexts.
Tasks Summary
- Lead inter agency coordination in refugee and displacement contexts.
- Support cluster coordination, including the Refugee Coordination Model (RCM), Protection Cluster, SLSCC, and CCCM Technical Working Group.
- Facilitate information sharing and joint planning to identify protection gaps, mobilize resources, and ensure the centrality of protection.
- Promote accountability to affected populations (AAP) by mainstreaming community feedback.
- Support the strengthening of the Area Based Coordination (ABC) model.
- Support streamlined approach to HPC 2026.
- Support needs assessment and resource mobilization.
- Operationalize cluster strategy through planning and implementation.
- Function as a key advocacy focal point.
- Support robust Accountability to Affected People (AAP) systems.
Experience Requirements
- 6 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 5 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 4 years relevant experience with Doctorate degree.
- Strong protection and inter agency background.
- Demonstrated experience in complex field settings.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting resource mobilization documents.
- Experience as a cluster coordinator is desirable.
- Technical expertise in at least one component of the SLSCC is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree in Law, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, Social Science or other relevant field.
