Associate Reporting Officer

Overview

The Associate Reporting Officer contributes to the production, editing, and quality control of reports for their Area of Responsibility, promoting UNHCR's vision, mission, and strategic goals through accurate and timely information sharing.

Tasks Summary

• Keep abreast of developments to prepare briefings and reports.
• Draft regular updates for internal and external audiences.
• Consolidate and analyse data on programme implementation and indicators.
• Participate in annual reporting and planning processes.
• Work with Information Management for data presentation, including maps.
• Support monitoring of UNHCR's partnerships and consolidate information about partners' activities.
• Assist in preparing briefing kits and presentations.
• Assist in preparing reports for donors, ensuring quality and donor visibility.
• Research, analyse, interpret, monitor, and review information and data from various sources.
• Prepare and distribute minutes of meetings.
• Provide technical support, training, and clarification on UNHCR's reporting policies and deadlines.
• May prepare press releases and edit stories for external communications products.
• Support UNHCR inter-agency coordination initiatives through reporting and secretariat functions.
• Support identification and management of risks and opportunities impacting objectives.

Experience Requirements

At least three years of relevant professional experience, ideally within international organizations, UN agencies, or humanitarian operations. Experience in project development, strong writing skills, monitoring, donor relations, and reporting is highly valued. Prior work in displacement settings or roles supporting donor visibility and engagement is desirable. Experience in conducting, participating in and reporting on meetings, and drafting reports. Experience in programme/project development, planning, implementation, and/or monitoring. Experience in a field mission and at Headquarters / in the UN Common System and country context is desirable. Experience undertaking operational and analytical work in the field of international affairs, international security, humanitarian affairs, development or journalism is desirable. Donor relations or liaison with media is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

A strong educational background in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Political Science, Law, or a related field. Undergraduate degree; or Graduate degree; or Doctorate degree.

Other Details

Languages Required: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English.
