Overview
The Programme Officer – Inclusive Growth (ISSP) will support inclusive economic ecosystems and ensure growth translates into jobs, enterprises, revenues, productivity, and investment with a focus on youth, women, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups.
Tasks Summary
- Support the design, sequencing and implementation of inclusive growth interventions across MSMEs, agriculture, mining, trade, tourism, manufacturing, and creative industries.
- Translate State development priorities into bankable programme pipelines and delivery roadmaps.
- Contribute to preparation of concept notes, programme documents, technical briefs, financing frameworks, and investment proposals.
- Support design and rollout of MSME incubation, enterprise development, export readiness, value-chain upgrading, and local industrialisation initiatives.
- Support organisation of MSME Deal Rooms, Agribusiness & Mining Investment Clinics, Tourism Investment Forums, Export Readiness Labs, and Private-Sector Dialogues.
- Support development of sector-specific pipelines in agriculture, mining, tourism, MSMEs, digital and green enterprises.
- Support MSMEs and producer groups in accessing standards, certification, packaging, branding, logistics, finance and AfCFTA market opportunities.
- Strengthen linkages between enterprises and financial institutions, DFIs, impact investors, and blended-finance facilities.
- Support establishment and strengthening of State MSME desks, export committees, enterprise support platforms, Youth-Friendly Centres, UniPods, innovation hubs and cluster development initiatives.
- Track performance of inclusive growth portfolios across ISSP States.
- Contribute to dashboards, progress reports, delivery trackers and management briefs.
- Support results-based management (RBM), risk tracking and adaptive delivery.
- Document lessons learned, bottlenecks and solutions to support continuous improvement and scaling.
- Prepare analytical briefs, investment notes, case studies and knowledge products on inclusive growth, value-chains, agriculture, mining, MSMEs, trade and tourism.
- Document good practices, innovations and scalable models emerging from ISSP States.
- Support development of communications and visibility materials.
- Facilitate cross-state learning exchanges and peer-to-peer platforms.
- Support coordination between UNDP teams, State MDAs, private sector, chambers of commerce, cooperatives, CSOs, development partners and Regional Development Commissions.
- Provide analytical inputs to partnership development and resource mobilisation.
- Support technical working groups and investment platforms related to inclusive growth and economic transformation.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in MSMEs, agriculture, mining, trade, tourism, private-sector development or value-chain programmes.
- Strong analytical, coordination and programme management skills.
- Experience working with government institutions and development partners.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Agriculture, Mining, Development Studies, Public Policy, Trade, Tourism, or related fields.
