Overview
ICT Specialist manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the locations where he/she is posted. S/he assists the ICT Coordinator and/or ICT Manager in designing and installing ICT infrastructure.
Tasks Summary
- Ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and security of ICT and telecom systems, infrastructure, and networks.
- Support the planning, execution, testing, and documentation of ICT projects.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical support requests.
- Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and seek guidance.
- Maintain and manage ICT equipment inventory.
- Provide regular updates to ICT Manager and/or ICT Coordinator.
- Enforce cybersecurity policies, conduct security assessments, mitigate risks, and safeguard sensitive data and systems.
- Support the implementation of disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to align ICT systems with operational needs.
- Update ICT documentation, user guides, and knowledge bases.
- Promote energy-efficient ICT practices, manage e-waste responsibly.
- Monitor ICT system performance, report on KPIs and SLAs.
- Provide technical support for events and meetings.
- Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence.
- Keeps track of equipment allocation, dispatches equipment, and follows up on shipments.
- Places orders for parts, equipment and tools.
- Installs, maintains, repairs and monitors ICT equipment.
- Is aware of the delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant ICT.
- Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field.
- Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.
Experience Requirements
- 3-4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).
- 1 year of people-management experience a strong asset.
- Knowledge about the financial, supply chain process and other usual ICT processes are a plus.
- Understanding specific thematic (cybersecurity, transformative initiatives, information management, data analytics, business intelligence tools) are a plus.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelors degree or equivalent in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field.
