Overview
Provides a wide range of general office support, services meetings, and performs administrative support within the Office of Administration of Justice, specifically in the Registry of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) in Nairobi.
Tasks Summary
- Independently handle inquiries on legal processes and procedures.
- Draft responses to routine correspondence.
- Edit and conduct final checks for accuracy of specialized documentation.
- Create and maintain files and databases, including case files and 'docket sheets'.
- Provide technical assistance for meeting arrangements and servicing.
- Conduct basic research on assigned issues.
- Maintain internal databases on cases for tracking and trend analysis.
- Generate statistical and other reports from databases.
- Review, record, distribute, and process mail and documents.
- Follow up on impending actions and deadlines.
- Assist in the maintenance of reference files.
- Perform administrative duties including processing travel requests.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and preparation of presentations and reports.
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of Seven (7) years of progressive experience in paralegal work, conference servicing, general office support or related area is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced by two years for candidates who possess a first level University degree.
- Experience as a law clerk/court assistant in an international or similar organizations, judicial administration or a large law firm is desirable.
- Work experience of one (1) year or more in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Supplemental training in paralegal, administration or related area is desirable.
