Overview
The Legal Assistant will provide general office support, service meetings, and perform administrative support within the Office of Administration of Justice, specifically in the Registry of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.
Tasks Summary
- Independently handle inquiries on legal processes and procedures.
- Draft responses to routine correspondence.
- Edit and check specialized documentation and legal publications.
- Create and maintain case files and databases.
- Provide technical assistance for meeting arrangements.
- Conduct basic research on assigned issues.
- Maintain internal databases for tracking and trend analysis.
- Review, record, and process mail and documents.
- Follow up on actions and deadlines.
- Assist in maintaining reference files and conducting reference searches.
- Generate statistical and other reports.
- Perform administrative duties including travel requests and claims.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Assist with updating information material.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of Seven (7) years of progressive experience in paralegal work, conference servicing, general office support or related area is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced by two years for candidates who possess a first level University degree.
- Experience as a law clerk/court assistant in an international or similar organizations, judicial administration or a large law firm is desirable.
- Work experience of one (1) year or more in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Supplemental training in paralegal, administration or related area is desirable.
