Graphic art designer intern

Overview

This internship provides hands-on experience in graphic and motion design within UNCTAD's communications team, focusing on visual storytelling and animated content for the World Investment Forum.

Tasks Summary

• Designing and producing visual materials for UNCTAD’s communication channels, including infographics, illustrations, figures, banners, and social media assets.
• Creating motion graphics and short animations for digital platforms, presentations, and events.
• Supporting the development of animated and static content related to the World Investment Forum.
• Assisting in the design of official publications.
• Preparing visual assets adapted for different formats.
• Researching and selecting relevant images, icons, and visual references.
• Supporting layout, animation, and visual optimization of digital content.
• Collaborating with communication officers and designers to ensure consistency with UNCTAD’s visual identity and branding guidelines.

Experience Requirements

Experience with collaboration or content tools (Canva, Trello, Figma, etc.) is an asset.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in a university undergraduate or master’s programme in graphic design, motion design, visual communication, multimedia design, or a related field.
• Have obtained a university degree in these fields and start the internship within one year of graduation. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or PhD Programme, or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency spoken and written in English and French is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

Contract Duration: 01.06.26 to 30.11.26

Work Modality: on-site

Remuneration: Internships are unpaid and full-time. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. All costs related to travel, accommodation, medical insurance, and living expenses must be borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution.
