Overview

This role leads the English Text-Processing Unit, responsible for the production of camera-ready documents and ensuring effective transition to new workflows. The position involves coordinating staff, monitoring statistics, and assisting with data analysis and information material updates.

Tasks Summary
  • Leads the adoption of modified working methods and procedures in ETPU.
  • Ensures modified workflows are designed and implemented according to rigorous standards.
  • Organizes, plans, controls and coordinates the work of ETPU.
  • Distributes assignments among ETPU staff and sets priorities.
  • Reviews all incoming formatting work and registers assignments.
  • Monitors ETPU statistics and performs administrative work.
  • Trains and guides junior ETPU staff members.
  • Completes performance evaluations for junior ETPU staff members.
  • Assists in training staff to align bi-texts and perform modified text-processing functions.
  • Participates in the creation, updating and maintenance of departmental macros, templates and models.
  • Rotates on daytime, after-hours and weekend work shifts, as needed.
  • Stays available for overtime and on-call assignments.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports.
  • Assists with updating information material such as web pages and brochures.
  • Performs other related work as required.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in desktop publishing or a related field, including draft typing, copy editing, formatting, proofreading and creating typographical layouts, is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced by two (2) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree. Experience with editorial rules and desktop publishing, including typographic standards, is desirable. One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or a related area is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

Completion of High school diploma or equivalent is required. Supplementary formal training in desktop publishing or a related field is desirable.
