Overview
Support strategic communications, visibility, and knowledge-sharing efforts for the "Sustainable Communities" programme, ensuring achievements and impact are effectively communicated to diverse stakeholders.
Tasks Summary
- Prepare and conduct communications needs assessment.
- Provide input to the SC Programme communication and PR strategy.
- Draft stories for local media.
- Develop Terms of Reference for communications needs and outreach materials.
- Design and implement communication work plan and guidelines, social media strategy and media engagement plans.
- Prepare social media posts, stories, articles, publications, press releases and manage content for social media.
- Design digital content and collect content from projects.
- Update and monitor the SC programme webpage.
- Promote and disseminate advocacy materials, newsletters, publications.
- Ensure communication with national and local stakeholders, communities, civic groups.
- Produce communication and advocacy materials for awareness-raising campaigns.
- Explore digital tools and platforms to increase visibility.
- Coordinate the design and production of printed and online materials.
- Supervise and obtain the creation and production of photo/video materials.
- Ensure all communication products comply with UNDP corporate guidelines.
- Support the organisation and communication aspects of SC Programme events, workshops, and conferences.
- Prepare presentation materials, media kits, and visual content for Programme events.
- Assist in communicating with the media.
- Identify and synthesize best practices and lessons learned.
- Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
- Assist UNDP CO Communication Analyst.
- Draft and finalize newsletters and other multi-touch communications products.
Experience Requirements
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in development communication, journalism, public relations or any closely related field.
- Desired: Experience in managing institutional social media platforms, producing high-quality communication materials, use of computers and office software packages, advanced knowledge of web-based management systems, content creation skills, cooperation with local and/or international organizations on PR, outreach, communication strategies, organization and facilitation of events, workshops, consultations, prior relevant experience with UN/UNDP Implemented projects.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Journalism, Communication, Public relations, social media marketing or other relevant field is required, or;
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
