Overview
The Partnerships and Programme Support Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing the country office partnerships development strategy, donor and client coordination, and ensuring effective transition of opportunities from pipeline to early implementation.
Tasks Summary
- Lead the development of a comprehensive partnerships development strategy.
- Develop, extend, and maintain strong partnerships with key partners.
- Participate in and lead partnership-building meetings and negotiations.
- Coordinate, advise, mentor, and coach relevant personnel.
- Ensure programmes/projects are developed in line with Results-Based Management principles.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight across the project lifecycle.
- Strengthen project assurance mechanisms.
- Provide clear leadership and direction to the Partnerships and Programme Unit.
- Implement UNOPS standards and utilize UNOPS tools and templates.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in partnerships development, project support, resource mobilization, and donor and external relations within international development, conflict/post-conflict and/or emergency / humanitarian contexts is required.
- Relevant work experience in the ECR region is an asset.
- Experience including accountabilities related to: development and execution of partnerships and programme development plans, project development and proposal writing, and acquisition of projects is highly desired.
- Project and programme management experience is an asset.
- Inter-agency coordination experience (within the UN System) is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
- A Master’s Degree, preferably in International Public Administration, International Development, Political Science, or International Relations, and or other related field is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in International Public Administration, International Development, Political Science, or International Relations and or other related field in combination with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
