Programme Policy Officer - School Based Programme (WAE) SSA8

Overview

The consultant will provide technical and coordination support to strengthen national school meal and home-grown school feeding programmes, focusing on studies, system strengthening, and policy guidance.

Tasks Summary

• Support the completion and dissemination of the Value for Money Study.
• Assist in monitoring fortified rice distribution to schools and guiding payment recovery.
• Support the implementation of Clean Energy for School Meal Programme, including identifying schools and facilitating estimates.
• Provide technical inputs for concept notes, proposals, and funding applications.
• Assist in transition planning, sustainability, situation analyses, stakeholder mapping, and drafting project frameworks.
• Maintain communication and coordination with government officials, development partners, consultants, and internal units.
• Prepare plans, reports, briefs, and presentations.
• Identify and support development of strategic partnerships.
• Document good practices, lessons learned, and success stories.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience at a national or an international organizational experience in school health and nutrition or school feeding related projects. Strong experience in working with higher-level officers of Government agencies of Sri Lanka and with a wide range of other partners.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced University degree (Masters) in Education, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
