Overview
The Regional Migration and Displacement intern will provide support to the planning, organising, and documentation of the GMTF Annual Meeting, and contribute to broader activities of the IFRC Asia Pacific Migration and Displacement team.
Tasks Summary
- Supporting the development and tracking of the overall meeting workplan and timeline
- Assisting with logistical arrangements, including participant coordination, agendas, session planning, and meeting materials
- Supporting liaison and coordination with GMTF members, IFRC, ICRC, and National Society focal points
- Assisting with preparation of background documents, concept notes, briefing papers, and presentations
- Supporting meeting documentation, including note-taking, synthesis of discussions, and drafting of meeting summaries and follow-up action points
- Assisting with post-meeting follow-up, including dissemination of outputs and tracking of agreed actions
- Regional analysis, mapping, and knowledge management related to migration and displacement
- Compiling content for the quarterly Asia Pacific Migration & Displacement Newsletter, and drafting or editing reports, briefs, and presentations
- Coordinating activities of the IFRC Asia Pacific Migration Network (APMN), e.g. webinars and online meetings, any events associated with World Refugee Day (20 June).
- Contributing to internal team meetings, planning processes, and ad hoc tasks as required.
Experience Requirements
- Lived experience of migration and/or displacement
- Familiarity with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
- Experience supporting meetings, events, or coordination processes
Qualification Requirements
• Enrolment in or recent completion of a degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, law or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
