Overview
The Program Manager (Environment and Climate Health) will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, technical oversight, and reporting of IRC-supported environment, DRR, climate health, and WASH interventions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Tasks Summary
- Support project teams in developing detailed work plans, spending plans, procurement plans, and implementation schedules.
- Lead and support project start-up activities.
- Oversee and support effective field-level implementation of projects.
- Provide continuous programmatic guidance and hands-on support to field staff and partners.
- Mentor IRC and partner teams in day-to-day project management.
- Provide technical oversight and support for procurement processes.
- Ensure leadership and coordination across IRC sectors and partner organizations.
- Coordinate closely with the Coordinator – Environmental Health and Climate Change and the AMU/partnership department.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update project management tools.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and responsible use of project resources and budgets.
- Actively monitor contextual developments and program implementation challenges.
- Coordinate closely with the MEAL team to develop appropriate monitoring tools.
- Ensure monitoring and evaluation tools are developed and implemented.
- Ensure regular review and analysis of activity, output, and outcome data.
- Participate in grant-related meetings.
- Support MEAL teams in addressing data quality or implementation issues.
- Contribute to high-quality internal and donor reports.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government counterparts, community leaders, NGOs, UN agencies, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Strengthen collaboration with relevant government departments and actors.
- Represent IRC in relevant district-level coordination forums, technical working groups, UN-led coordination mechanisms, and meetings.
- Promote multi-sectoral coordination.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in program management with international NGOs.
- At least 3 years of experience managing multi-sectoral projects through both partner-led and direct implementation modalities.
- Demonstrated experience in Environment, DRR, Climate Health, SBCC and WASH programming is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working with institutional donors and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
