Overview

Responsible for providing strategic financial management to the country mission and overseeing all finance-related tasks, ensuring compliance with DRC and donor requirements.

Tasks Summary
  • Lead and manage the finance team.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial management capacity building of staff.
  • Reinforce procedures and systems for financial management and control.
  • Support timely delivery of quality financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant country statutory and other financial obligations.
  • Ensure thorough and effective budgetary control.
  • Liaise with relevant Managers on key financial issues.
  • Maintain a continuous overview of funding levels.
  • Provide oversight on ensuring all required documentation and information for financial audits.
  • Ensure monthly meetings are held with project managers to discuss key variances.
  • Take a lead and ensure preparation for local audits and statutory audits.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals with regards to budgeting.
  • Ensure compilation of timely cash forecasts and requesting funds.
  • Explore alternative financial service providers and banking service.
  • Support the senior Management in ensuring adequate liquidity.
  • Ensure effective systems establishment for Partnership Assessment and follow-up.
  • Establish effective Partnership Financial monitoring plan and support in financial monitoring of partners.
  • Support in Financial Capacity development initiatives for Partners.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 5 years' international experience in a senior financial management position
  • At least 3 years' experience with people management
  • Proven experience in managing large budgets
  • Proven leadership skills and a competence in people management
  • Competence in providing technical guidance and training
  • Proven experience in working with national partners, local/government authorities
  • Working experience with relevant donors (e.g. ECHO, UNHCR, OCHA, CDCS, and guidelines)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel as well as experience working in a financial IT system
  • Experience working as a field-level project manager is highly desirable
  • Working in multiple regulatory and compliance environment
  • Previous experience in Partnership Financial management and Capacity building
Qualification Requirements

Master's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration

Other Details

Languages Required: Full professional proficiency in English

Languages Preferred: Proficiency in Arabic is a distinct advantage

Contract Duration: till end of Dec 2026
