Overview

The Economic Recovery Specialist will primarily support partner-led implementation of Economic Recovery activities in Sumy oblast, providing day-to-day technical, operational and project cycle management support to implementing partners.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and guidance to implementing partners delivering Economic Recovery activities.
  • Support partners across the full project cycle, including project initiation, work planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and closure.
  • Lead and contribute to partner capacity strengthening initiatives, including coaching, training and development of tools.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to partner activities.
  • Support partners in the development and updating of key PCM tools.
  • Review partners’ monthly narrative and financial reports.
  • Contribute to internal PMM/BFU processes.
  • Support partners in project closure processes.
  • Support needs assessments and analysis related to Economic Recovery.
  • Conduct and support comprehensive market and value chain analysis.
  • Contribute to the development, review and piloting of Economic Recovery methodologies, guidance and tools.
  • Ensure that Economic Recovery activities are inclusive and accessible.
  • Participate in relevant coordination mechanisms.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in economic recovery, livelihoods, economic development, business or finance.
  • Proven experience providing technical support and/or capacity strengthening to local partners, CSOs or community-based organisations.
  • Strong understanding of project cycle management in humanitarian or early recovery contexts.
  • Experience working in conflict-affected or humanitarian settings.
  • Experience working with an international NGO (desirable).
  • Experience in women’s economic empowerment, gender equality or GBV-sensitive programming (desirable).
  • Experience engaging with private sector actors or livelihood market systems (desirable).
  • Experience contributing to proposal development and donor reporting (desirable).
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree (Master's degree or higher) in economics, Development Studies, Social Science, Business Administration or Development, or related field to Economic Recovery.
  • Certified Business Trained.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Advanced English and fluent Ukrainian.

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 3 months’ probation period with the possibility of extension (till end of December 2026)

Work Modality: with regular field visits within the oblast

Remuneration: Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national employees.
