Overview
The International Quality Infrastructure Expert will provide technical advice and coordinate activities related to quality infrastructure for a regional programme aimed at increasing trade competitiveness and market access in West Africa.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical inputs and advise on quality infrastructure governance, policies, and standards.
- Support capacity-building activities for Quality Infrastructure institutions and committees.
- Facilitate the digitalization of regional quality infrastructure institutions.
- Coordinate and ensure high-quality delivery by technical experts and partners.
- Lead the drafting of terms of reference and technical specifications for Quality Infrastructure services.
- Plan, monitor, supervise, and report on the implementation of programme interventions.
- Liaise with UNIDO divisions and project managers to ensure smooth communication.
- Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of consultants and service providers.
- Contribute to financial planning and monitoring for activities.
- Support the preparation of periodic progress reports and case studies.
- Coordinate and engage on Quality Infrastructure issues with key stakeholders.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in the field of quality infrastructure, including experience in supporting and promoting quality.
- Knowledge of quality-related issues at the ECOWAS level as well as the various actors in the regional and national quality infrastructure systems in the Region is desirable.
- Experience in developing and implementing Quality Management Systems is desirable.
- Experience with EU-funded programmes is desirable.
- Experience in implementing regional programmes is desirable.
- Good ability to work under pressure and take initiatives is required.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree in engineering, or any other related field, with a strong understanding of quality infrastructure in general is required.
