Overview
The Protection Assistant is responsible for managing client data, supporting monitoring and evaluation activities, and ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
Tasks Summary
- Enter client registration and program-related data accurately into databases.
- Maintain and test databases, correct errors, and clean data.
- Ensure data compliance with international and IRC standards, maintaining confidentiality and data security.
- Develop and manage filing systems for protection reports and records.
- Produce statistical reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Update and modify data collection tools and databases as needed.
- Conduct training on data collection tools and systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT security procedures for data safeguarding.
- Translate information received from the field into English and adapt language from standardized tools into local languages.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities for the child protection program.
- Monitor and analyze data to facilitate program adaptation.
- Document and share learning and evidence from projects.
- Produce quality reports and update dashboards with key findings.
- Identify, document, and share client feedback.
- Contribute to accountability commitments through feedback mechanisms.
- Support the deployment of surveys and evaluations.
- Support the use of mobile data technology and online dashboards.
- Attend training organized by the IRC.
- Stay informed about the child protection situation.
- Monitor the safety and security of field teams.
- Promote and adhere to IRC principles and code of conduct.
- Provide translation and interpretation at meetings, training sessions, and/or documents if necessary.
- Assist in identifying new implementing partners and arranging meetings.
- Conduct any other task requested by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in managing data and field monitoring.
- Experience in INGO/NGO work.
- Experience developing and managing databases.
- Experience conducting statistical analysis and reporting.
- Experience with data collection tools (e.g., Excel, Kobo Toolbox).
- Experience in conducting primary quantitative data collection and data entry.
- Basic technical knowledge of M&E approaches and techniques in areas such as data collection, basic data analysis, accountability, client feedback mechanisms.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries.
Qualification Requirements
• BA or equivalent in Data management, IT, Administration.
