Overview
The Nutrition Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of nutrition activities, oversee teams in three Nutrition Sites, and provide technical support to ensure quality nutrition services for pregnant women, caregivers of children under 2, and children under 5.
Tasks Summary
- Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of all nutrition activities at nutrition facilities and communities.
- Support SCI and partners to establish IYCF corner/Mother baby area.
- Provide technical support on IYCF and CMAM.
- Ensure partner staff and health workers use national guidelines/SOP/Guidelines.
- Make sure availability of adequate nutrition IEC materials.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide on the job training.
- Use standard supervision checklist to monitor and evaluate the quality of nutrition Services.
- Facilitate cross-sectoral programming.
- Prepare and share regular reports.
- Attend training and teams meeting.
- Perform other duties related to nutrition assigned by supervisor.
- Effective collaboration and coordination with nutrition clusters, UN agencies, NGOs and MoH.
- Ensure timely nutrition data collection and reporting.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- A good understanding of CMAM & IYCF programme.
- Experience of working with NGO.
- Experience in individual/group counselling.
Qualification Requirements
• B.Sc. in Nutrition, Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing or Midwifery.
