Overview

Support the operationalization of DRC’s Localization Vision 2030 by providing technical programmatic and operational advice to Country Operations and enabling local actors to lead humanitarian responses.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical programmatic and operational advice to develop and elevate a localized approach to programming.
  • Support the development of country-level organizational structures that enable localization ambitions.
  • Collaborate with country level programme and support staff to embed a localized approach in partnership approaches and mainstream across DRC’s response.
  • Contribute to scoping for new programmatic and funding opportunities to improve localization efforts.
  • Contribute to the identification and conceptual development of model program concepts under localization and partnership engagement.
  • Support CO’s strategic direction of localization ambitions, focusing on developing localization roadmaps/strategic plans.
  • Lead on supporting/implementing globally initiated pilot localization initiatives in selected countries.
  • Provide technical support with the use of global tools and resources.
  • Support staff learning and development in COs, including coaching and mentoring.
Experience Requirements

At least 7 years’ demonstrable experience in similar advisory or operational roles in international humanitarian and/or development organizations. Demonstrable experience developing and overseeing programming that supports local leadership. Substantial experience working with local partners, including experience with donor compliance requirements.

Qualification Requirements

Master’s degree in development or humanitarian studies, sociology, political science, human geography or similar.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluent in written and spoken English and the working language of the country of residence

Languages Preferred: Advanced level in written and spoken French or Arabic

Contract Duration: until 31st. December 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Remuneration: Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for employees on national contracts
