Overview

The Programme Analyst reports to the Head of Brazil Office and will support the implementation of a project to improve basic water and sanitation services. The role involves providing technical and managerial support, coordinating project activities, and maintaining communication with partners.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical advice and support for project activities.
  • Provide managerial support and coordinate the project's work programme.
  • Maintain communication with counterparts and local partners.
  • Perform technical, administrative, and management activities to meet project objectives.
  • Provide technical support for capacity building, data management, public policies, planning, social mobilization, community projects, construction management, project funding, advocacy, and partnership.
  • Provide information for systematization and exchange of successful practices.
  • Conduct technical activities to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Provide inputs for risk identification and mitigation.
  • Attend meetings and conferences.
  • Document expert group meetings, forums, consultations, training events, and other project-related activities.
  • Prepare reports for partners and internal reports.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Participate in missions as requested.
  • Complete all indicated courses and training activities, including the BSAFE security course.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in designing, reviewing, or implementing projects/programmes related to urban planning, water and sanitation and/or infrastructure in urban communities in Brazil is required.
  • Experience in project management is required.
  • Experience with water and sanitation is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Law, International Relations or related fields is required.
  • Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Sociology, Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Portuguese is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of English or Spanish is desirable.

Contract Duration: Six (6) months, with possibility of renewal

Work Modality: The consultant must be available to travel to the places related to the activities in the country, if requested by the Head of Brazil Office.

Remuneration: LICA 3 UNOPS Salary Scale.
