Intern: environment, international relations or equivalent

Overview

Internship opportunity within the Environment Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The role supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by contributing to the work of the Water Convention and its Protocol.

Tasks Summary

• Support the preparation and organization of meetings.
• Support the implementation of country projects and activities.
• Assist with the preparation of communication material.
• Provide general assistance with day-to-day tasks.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled or completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Computer literate in standard software applications.
• Studies in environment, international relations or equivalent are required.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of French, Russian, Spanish or Arabic is an asset.

Contract Duration: 1 April to 30 June 2026 with the possibility of further extension.

Remuneration: The United Nations does not financially remunerate interns. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibilities of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
