Overview

This internship is based in the Ozone Secretariat at the Nairobi duty station. The intern will support the development of global communication campaigns and assist with meeting coverage.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the development of in-house meeting coverage of the Secretariat's annual Open- ended Working Group meetings and the annual Meetings of the Parties.
  • Support the development of global communication campaigns to mark World Ozone Day and the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment.
  • Support meetings taking place during the internship period by providing communications, branding and logistical assistance at both the meeting of the Open-ended Working Group (July) and Meeting of the Parties (November).
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field;
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in Spanish and French is desirable. Knowledge of any other additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
