Overview

Consultant to ensure the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of participatory public spaces design workshops in three selected territories in Juiz de Fora, with a target audience of children aged 7 to 12 years old.

Tasks Summary
  • Develop a Detailed Work Plan.
  • Coordinate and facilitate three participatory urban design workshops.
  • Develop all necessary materials for the workshops.
  • Design and apply innovative participatory methodologies.
  • Conduct a participatory diagnosis of selected public spaces.
  • Oversee and monitor the logistical, material, and technical preparation of the workshops.
  • Document and systematize data, inputs, and results generated during the workshops.
  • Present the results and deliverables to UN-Habitat and local partners.
  • Ensure compliance with UN-Habitat's standards for visibility, data protection, and ethics.
  • Participate in meetings with UN-Habitat teams, the Municipality of Juiz de Fora, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with UN-Habitat standards, methodologies, and expectations.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum four (4) years of professional experience providing technical support for the development of participatory urban design projects is required.
  • Previous professional experience working with informal settlements is required.
  • Previous academic or professional experience working with the 2030 Agenda and NUA is desirable.
  • Previous experience within the UN System is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Pedagogy or related fields is required, or additional three (03) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
  • Postgraduate degree or specialized training in participatory methodologies, urban studies, childhood studies, gender studies, or community development or related fields is desired.
Other Details

Languages Required: • fluency in Portuguese is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable.

Contract Duration: Three (3) months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Payment 1 [40%]: Upon delivery and approval of Product 1 (BRL: 4.202) • Payment 2 [60%]: Upon delivery and approval of Product 2 (BRL: 6.304)
