Overview
Provide technical expertise on climate change and agrifood systems, supporting FAO's climate change portfolio through implementation, knowledge development, training, and dissemination.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical guidance to integrate climate change and biodiversity considerations into national and regional agricultural development plans, policies, and investment strategies.
- Conduct technical analysis of nationally determined contributions, long-term strategies, national adaptation plans, and projects such as GEF and GCF.
- Support in advancing climate policy processes, including mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, and transparency mechanisms.
- Support private sector engagement in climate adaptation and mitigation and biodiversity goals.
- Conduct assessments of climate vulnerability and risk in agricultural systems.
- Analyse ongoing initiatives and case studies; document lessons learned, good practices, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop project concept notes, project proposals, technical knowledge materials and other relevant documents.
- Develop training materials and capacity-building programs.
- Participate in field missions and technical workshops.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
Experience Requirements
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in climate change and natural resource management projects and programmes.
Qualification Requirements
University degree in Economics, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Environment Management, Natural Resources Management or related fields.
