Overview
Leads the development and execution of the Market Scoping function within UNICEF’s Office of Innovation. The role is responsible for defining a modular service model that connects difficult problems to external innovations across startups, academia, and the private sector.
Tasks Summary

Experience Requirements
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in areas such as knowledge management, market research, user research, ecosystem mapping, innovation management, information management, or strategy consulting is required.
- Demonstrated experience in rapid research and synthesis, producing concise and decision-useful scoping briefs, global landscape mappings, or market intelligence outputs for senior, multiple stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with the ecosystem of innovation, AI, data science, or other frontier technology – with a deep understanding of the current technology trends and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic and high-quality content for internal and external audiences, with tested writing, editing, and packaging skills.
- Solid experience in developing, procuring, or overseeing the deployment of technology/AI-enabled tools, particularly for innovation monitoring and research.
- Proven ability to connect and facilitate across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in developing and rolling out strategies (preferably strategies related to technology, innovation, or market scoping).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with expert-level proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint.
Qualification Requirements
An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Business Administration, Public Policy, Innovation/Technology Management, International Development or another field directly related to innovation systems, market research, or knowledge management.A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
