Overview

The Associate Gender and Social Inclusion will support the implementation of gender and social inclusion plans, processes, and reporting on progress in gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the implementation, review, monitoring, and updating of the project's gender, diversity, and inclusion action plan.
  • Identify and maintain updated the gender equality risk management plan, social risks, and PSEAH within the assigned project.
  • Execute the dissemination of relevant information on gender equality, human rights, and gender-sensitive infrastructure.
  • Contribute knowledge in the definition and development of analyses on the right to health, resilient infrastructure, and gender-sensitive green infrastructure.
  • Support the Senior Gender and Social Inclusion Officer in implementing and operationalizing UNOPS strategies on Gender Equality, Social Inclusion, Human Rights, PSEAH, DEI, and others.
  • Review and promote the quality of processes and products from contractor and supervision companies regarding gender equality and human rights.
  • Execute the implementation of management processes for agreements according to guidelines from the Program Management Office (PgMO).
  • Provide technical advice on gender equality and human rights to the Social Management role and contractor teams.
  • Support the promotion of regional success criteria for Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion in the project.
  • Perform periodic updates of monitoring tools and ensure quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting processes.
  • Support the promotion of inclusive and gender-responsive procurement.
  • Support the implementation of the DRIVE program and technical assistance to contractors and suppliers on corrective action plans.
  • Support initiatives for the diversification of suppliers, with a focus on the economic empowerment of women and vulnerable groups.
  • Organize forums, events, workshops, and activities, with attention to diversifying contractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare reports, background notes, discussion points, summaries, and other project-related documents on gender equality and human rights.
  • Promote a communication approach for development and behavior change.
  • Advise the Social Management role on gender equality and human rights.
  • Document processes, activities, and information on the inclusion of gender equality and human rights at national, regional, and global levels.
  • Support the systematization, standardization, and exchange of experiences between projects, practice areas, and offices.
  • Promote an inclusive and egalitarian organizational culture that respects diversity and ensures integrity and equal treatment.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 to 6 years of relevant experience (depending on academic credentials) in supporting the execution and/or implementation of projects related to Human Rights and Gender Equality, economic empowerment of women, or implementation of gender and human rights approaches in development or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with social actors and international cooperation (civil society organizations, international organizations, public entities, academic entities) in gender equality and women's human rights, and related areas (infrastructure, medical equipment, technical assistance, etc.).
  • Experience in sustainable and gender-sensitive procurement.
  • Experience in projects on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) or Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Trafficking (PSEAH).
  • Experience in the development and/or advisory of awareness-raising and capacity-building processes on Gender Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights.
  • Experience in initiatives developed for the employability of vulnerable groups, with a focus on women and youth.
  • Experience in executing projects and/or developing advisory services where international or national laws, policies, and conventions related to gender equality and women's human rights have been applied, adapted to Guatemala's political, social, and economic reality.
  • Experience in computer use and office software packages, such as documents and spreadsheets (Google Suite or MS Office).
Qualification Requirements
  • Required: Complete secondary education (Middle School - Diversified Title).
  • Desirable: Bachelor's degree in academic fields related to Social Sciences (Sociology, International Relations, Political Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Communication, or related).
  • Master's degree in disciplines related to this call (Development Project Management, International Cooperation, Gender Equality, Human Rights, Development and Economic Empowerment, Public Policies, and areas related to Women's Human Rights).
  • Specialization studies (diplomas/certificates or similar) in gender equality and/or women's human rights, public policies, violence against women and harassment, multiculturalism, indigenous peoples' rights, economic empowerment, social communication, development project management, social management, etc.

Languages Preferred: English Intermediate Desirable Mayan Basic Desirable

Contract Duration: Contrato ongoing, sujeto a requerimientos organizacionales, disponibilidad presupuestaria, desempeño satisfactorio, duración y/o necesidades de los proyectos.
