Overview
The Economist will research and analyze economic issues to inform lending, policy dialogue, and analytical work for Cabo Verde. The role involves leading macroeconomic monitoring and supporting policy dialogue with authorities and development partners.
Tasks Summary
- Research and analyze specific economic, financial, country or sector issues.
- Lead macroeconomic monitoring for Cabo Verde, including weekly updates, bi-annual Macro and Poverty Outlook (MPO), and annual Country Economic Update.
- Develop and maintain a framework of Cabo Verde economic and social data.
- Support policy dialogue on macroeconomic, fiscal and economic growth issues.
- Support and/or co-lead fiscal and debt non-lending activities.
- Co-manage projects, trust funds and grants.
- Advise sector teams on macroeconomic and fiscal implications.
- Provide analytical inputs for the Country Management Unit (CMU).
Experience Requirements
At least five years of experience. A PhD would be an asset (equivalent to three years of experience).
Qualification Requirements
Master’s degree in economics.
